Philias Norman Lallier, 77 Retired Newspaper Printer Philias Norman Lallier, 77, of South Washington Street, North Attleboro; formerly of Jackson Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, died on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Hospice House in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the beloved husband of Carol Ann (Johnson) Lallier to whom he was married on May 18, 1957. Born in Central Falls, Rhode Island on June 24, 1933, Mr. Lallier was a son of the late Philias and Rosilda (Tavernier) Lallier. He was a lifelong resident of the North Attleboro community and was a 1952 graduate of North Attleboro High School. Mr. Lallier was a proud veteran of the United States Army having served from 1953 until 1955. He was employed as a linotype operator and printer in the newspaper industry having been employed by the former North Attleboro Chronicle from 1957 ? 1971 and for the Providence Journal Company from 1971 -1982. He was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls. Mr. Lallier was an ardent sports enthusiast but treasured most the times spent creating lifelong memories with his family, his grandchildren in particular. He was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks ? Lodge #1011 in North Attleboro. In addition to his wife of 53 years, he leaves a daughter: Susan Lallier Smith and her husband, William Smith, of Friendswood, Texas; a son: Kenneth N. Lallier and his wife, Rebecca (Naney) Lallier, of Hartford, Vermont; two grandchildren: Megan Lallier of Hartford, Vermont and Jeffrey Lallier of Burlington, Vermont; three step granddaughters; five step great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. He was the brother of the late Lionel Lallier, Raymond Lallier, Rene Lallier, Marcella Raymond, Robert Ringuette and Eugene Lallier. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at 10:00 AM at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley Street (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, turn right onto Stanley Street in mile and travel to end of Stanley Street), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor, officiating. Burial with military honors will be private in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mr. Lallier?s name may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island.
