Born in Providence, RI, on August 13, 1944, he was the son of the late Domenic and Rita (McGrath) Lombardi.
Peter enjoyed a fulfilling upbringing in Newton, MA, and later pursued his education at Our Lady’s High School, where he distinguished himself as a wide receiver on the football team.
Before his retirement, Peter dedicated numerous years to his career as a radar technician, ultimately taking on management responsibilities in the stockroom. His role encompassed both technical proficiency and meticulous attention to detail, reflecting his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
Peter also served with honor in the United States Marine Corps, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. His military experience instilled in him a profound sense of discipline, teamwork, and leadership, qualities he exemplified throughout his life. He was recognized with several honors, including the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Rifle Marksman Badge.
In addition to his professional achievements and military service, Peter found great joy in golfing with his childhood friends and his son. He took pride in sharing the game with his eldest grandchild, fostering a love for the sport that would continue in the family.
Above all, Peter cherished spending time with family and friends. Those fortunate enough to know him would describe him as a loyal, courageous, loving, kindhearted, and intelligent individual, always ready to lend a helping hand. His six grandchildren held a special place in his heart, and he made it a priority to attend their hockey and baseball games to offer his unwavering support.
