Peter Edmund Currier, 58, of Allenson Avenue, Attleboro, died unexpectedly at his residence on Friday, March 15, 2013. He was the husband of Lorna Anne (Lebowitz) Currier to whom he was married on June 7, 1987. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on March 2, 1955, he was a son of the late Edmund and Elizabeth (McManus) Currier. He was raised and educated in Franklin where he was a communicant of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church and resided there until moving to Framingham then North Attleboro and for the past 24 years resided in South Attleboro. Mr. Currier was a 1973 graduate of Franklin High School and attended Dean Junior College. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served with the military police for 3 years in Germany. Prior to his retirement in July 2012, Mr. Currier was employed for more than 32 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts - Department of Correction having achieved the rank of Shift Commander - Correctional Program Officer at the Pondville Facility. He enjoyed downhill skiing and will be remembered as a "foodie" and for being a terrific cook, particularly Italian cuisine. His family was of most importance to him and he also adored his current beloved canine companions, Barry and Bentley. In addition to his wife, he leaves three children: Monika Onnen of Bremen, Germany; Brett M. Currier of Franklin and Nicole M. Currier of Attleboro; a grandson: Fynn Onnen of Bremen, Germany; his siblings: Debbie Currier of Franklin; Mark Currier of Franklin; Michael Currier of Derwood, Maryland; Judith Enegren of Franklin; Brian Currier of Londonderry, New Hampshire and Christine Currier of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation with Veteran's Honors on Thursday, March 21, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. The funeral with Veteran's Honors will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013 at 8:30 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Church, Franklin. Burial with military honors will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Franklin. Please do not send flowers.
