Peter George Abellan, 80, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2024, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA. He was the husband of Alice W. (Hanson) Abellan with whom he shared 57 years of marriage.
Born in New York, he was a son of the late Joseph Abellan, an immigrant from Spain, and the late Martha Abellan, who immigrated to the United States from Germany. He was raised and educated in New York.
As a business owner, he last owned and operated Quincy Automatic Transmissions and QAT Towing in Quincy, MA prior to his retirement. His strong work ethic and compassion towards his employees and customers earned him the respect for all that knew him.
He treasured the times going out to sea fishing aboard his beloved boat, "Fish Trap". In fact, he enjoyed being around the water whether it was the Atlantic Ocean or spending the day at the beach, especially Webster Lake.
His most memorable moments were those spent in the company of family and friends and would treasure holiday dinners with his family.
Peter enjoyed travelling and was a fan of the New England Patriots.
In addition to his wife of 57 years, he leaves his children, Joseph P. Abellan and his fiancé, Joelle Souza, of North Attleboro, MA, Carolyn L. Moore of Saugus, MA; and three grandchildren, John, Jennifer and Kaela.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
