Peggy Ann Alton

Peggy Ann (Zaler) Alton, 57, of Commonwealth Avenue, Attleboro; formerly of Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro; died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of Jefferson A. Alton, Sr. to whom she was married in 1973. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts on November 30, 1954, she was a daughter of Marguerite (Landers) Robinson of Ft. Meyers, Florida and the late Harold Zaler. An Attleboro resident since 2006 she previously resided in North Attleboro for 15 years. Prior to moving to North Attleboro, Mrs. Alton was a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico and as a "military wife" she resided at Hanscom Air Force Base from 1973 - 1989. She was previously employed as a licensed practical nurse at Hanscom Air Force Base and in New Mexico. Upon moving to the greater Attleboro area, Mrs. Alton was employed as a cashier at Stop & Shop and Shaw's Supermarkets. Her family was of most importance to her. In addition to her husband and mother, she leaves two children: William E. and Jennifer A.; two grandchildren: John W. and Jarred A.; her siblings: Beverly Zaler, Anna Sattler, Harold and Richard Zaler, Deborah Moneta and Linda Morris and several extended family members and friends. She was the mother of the late Jefferson A. Alton II who died in 2000. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
