Pauline Lea Demers

December 12, 1953 — February 18, 2025

Pauline L. (Ouellette) Demers passed away unexpectedly at her home in North Attleboro on Tuesday February 18, 2025. She was the cherished and beloved wife of Peter J. Demers Jr. to whom she wed on April 16, 1988.

Born at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA on December 12, 1953, Pauline was the loving daughter of the late Dr. Romeo C. and Jacqueline (Lavoie) Ouellette.

Pauline was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro. She was educated in North Attleboro and graduated from Bishop Feehan High School in 1971. She continued her studies, graduating with a degree in Accounting from Dean College in Franklin, MA. Long after her formal education was completed, Pauline continued to be a student of life.

When she was younger, Pauline worked as a travel agent. She traveled the world and enjoyed sharing stories about her experiences. When she became an accountant, Pauline worked for many years at R.J. Gold Company and was especially busy during tax season. Although she recently semi-retired from a twenty-two-year career with Transition Solutions, Pauline was never one to sit idle. At the time of her death, she continued working part-time for Transition Solutions.

Pauline will be remembered as living life to the fullest and embracing adventure. When staying local, she liked dabbling with golf and the occasional bingo game. Many of her adventures spanned the global scale. She skied all over the world including France, Switzerland, the Alps, the Rockies, and other locations too numerous to mention. She traveled the world with her husband, Peter, and other family members. Always with an eye towards the future, Pauline was planning a 2026 adventure to the British Isles at the time of her death.

One of her biggest passions was fishing. She loved being out on the water and “reeling in the big one”. In recent years, she spent many weekends down in Charleston, RI fishing in the ocean with her sister (also her best friend) Carol, Carol’s husband, Jim, and her husband, Peter.

Although Pauline was always up for an adventure, she loved spending time at home. Peter and she had purchased her childhood home in North Attleboro. She relished childhood memories while creating new ones with her own children and grandchildren. She loved doing crossword puzzles and curling up with a good book. In the spring and summer, she enjoyed working in her various vegetable and flower gardens that dotted the landscape of her home on North Washington Street.

Christmas was Pauline’s favorite time of the year. Decorating for Christmas brought her great joy. She loved setting up her Christmas village, decorating the tree, and hanging decorations throughout the house. Peter and other family members would often tease her about leaving the decorations up long after the holidays had come and gone.

Pauline’s Catholic faith was at the center of her life. She was an active communicant of Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at St. Mary’s Church in North Attleboro. She enjoyed participating in the choir and was a member of several parish groups including St. Vincent DePaul and the Women’s Spirituality Guild. She strongly believed in the power of prayer and was a member of the parish’s prayer group.

Family was Pauline’s first love and priority. She enjoyed keeping up traditions, whether it be family reunions, Sunday dinners or holiday parties. She loved attending her kids’ and grandkids’ sporting events and theatrical productions. She could always be heard on the sidelines or in the audience cheering them on. She appreciated their individuality and encouraged them to follow their dreams. She considered them the special gifts of her life and took pride in each of them.

In addition to her loving husband of nearly 37 years, Pauline is survived by her devoted children: Lindsay (Charlebois) Kinnon and her husband Mike, Heidi Charlebois and her partner, Pat Cushing, and Ian Demers and his partner Alexis Schuko. She was the cherished grandmother of Leah, Anna and Chloe. She was the dear sister of Suzanne Ouellette Kesick (Jim), Carol Ouellette McMahon (James), and Paul Ouellette (Lori). She is also survived by several generations of loving nieces and nephews.

Pauline's legacy of kindness, empathy and generosity will continue to live on through the good works of family, friends, and the many lives she touched while on this earth. We are better versions of ourselves, and the world is a kinder place. She forever has her handprint on our hearts.

Pauline’s funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, April 25, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at St. Mary Church, Park Street, North Attleboro, MA. All friends and family are invited to gather at the church for this celebration of Pauline’s life.

At the family’s request, calling hours have been omitted. Interment services will be private.

Those wishing to remember Pauline and extend expressions of sympathy are encouraged to make a donation in her memory to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish at St. Mary’s Church, 14 Park St, North Attleborough, MA 02760.
