Paul Dana Roske

Paul Dana Roske, 62, of North Attleboro, MA passed away on July 16, 2024, at Massachusetts General Brigham Hospital in Boston, MA following a brief illness.  He was the beloved husband of Christopher N. Jones with whom he shared 30-years together and the two were officially married on July 5, 2019.
Born in Providence, Rhode Island on May 15, 1962, he was a son of the late Robert William Roske and the late Elaine Joan  (Bertini) Roske.
Raised and educated in Rhode Island, Mr. Roske obtained his undergraduate degree in hotel and restaurant management from UMASS Amherst and earned his master's and PhD in Library Science and Information Technology from the University of Rhode Island.
Mr. Roske had been an associate professor at Bryant University in Smithfield, Rhode Island where he served as librarian from 1996 until 2010 and also worked at other schools of higher education in similar capacities.
An accomplished cook, he was once told by renowned chef, Julia Child, that he made the best pie crust.
Paul was an avid gardener who designed and planted several community gardens in Rhode Island and Massachusetts.
He will be remembered as a caring, non-judgmental person who was always willing to help someone in need, particularly the homeless and never asked for anything in return.
Paul and his husband traveled extensively throughout the world and only returned to the United States in June from the Czech Republic where they resided for the past five years and where they volunteered to teach residents the English language.
Known for his sense of humor, he will also be remembered for his love for fine dining and his commitment to. All those in need and belief as a devout Buddhist.
In addition to his cherished husband, Christopher, he leaves a sister: Diane E. Roske of Seekonk, MA and friends throughout the world.
All are warmly welcome to attend a Buddhist Celebration of Life Service on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11:00 am in the Historic Chapel of Swan Point Cemetery, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, Rhode Island.
A private burial will follow in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, Rhode Island.
Following graveside services an invitation will be extended to gather for a time of fellowship and refreshments in the cemetery collation center.
