Paul Richard Nickerson, 69, of North Attleboro, MA, a native of Dorchester, MA, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved and cherished husband and "First Mate" of forty-seven years to Theresa A. (Buckmann) Nickerson.
Born in Revere, MA on February 19, 1952, he was a son of the late Dorothy "Dottie" (Silva) Nickerson and the late Floyd Nickerson.
Paul was raised and educated in the Dorchester section of Boston, MA and was a 1969 graduate of Dorchester High School. He earned many professional certifications and was a retired emergency vehicle technician, having worked for many years at Greenwood Emergency Vehicles, LLC in North Attleboro, MA.
Paul resided in North Attleboro, MA for the past 33 years, having previously resided in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, MA and Quincy, MA. He was an avid boater and fisherman and longtime member of the Metropolitan Yacht Club in Braintree, MA.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his sisters: Carol Marobella of Plymouth, MA; Doris (Brown) McCaffrey of Titusville, Florida; his sister-in-law: Rita Buckmann of Quincy, MA; a brother-in-law: Robert Buckmann of Largo, Florida. He was the loving uncle to many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jane Bowden and the son-in-law of the late Mary T. Buckmann.
Family and friends are cordially invited to honor Paul by attending Visitation in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, on Saturday, June 5, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A brief prayer service will be offered during the visitation period.
At the family's request, only those fully vaccinated may omit face masks. Those not fully vaccinated are kindly requested by the family to wear face masks and practice social distancing.
Burial will be private.
