Paul Edward Johnson, 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. He was the beloved husband of Brenda K. (Meredith) Johnson, to whom he was married on November 26, 1965.Born on January 2, 1942 in Boston, MA, he was the adopted son of the late Arnold and Mildred (Erickson) Johnson.Paul attended Cambridge Academy then the University of Vermont and Northeastern University, and worked for ADM in Shrewsbury, MA before retiring in 2003. He resided for over twenty years on Sunset Lake in Ashburnham and Ashby MA, where he was privileged to serve as a member of the Ashby Board of Selectman, the Water-Sewer Commission, and as President of the Sunset Lake Association.A caring, generous, and giving man, his life was exemplified through his membership in the Sertoma Club, whose mission is to meet the needs of communities through volunteer service. An inquisitive man who taught himself everything he could about computers use, he loved reading and researching, and could often be found discovering new bits of information and answers to innumerable questions. He enjoyed owning and selling houses, and marksmanship, having been a member of the Harvard Sportsmen's Club and the Fitchburg Rod & Gun Club over the years. In addition to his wife, Brenda, he leaves his loving children: Meredith Christie (Johnson) Landsmann and her husband, Martin M. Landsmann, of Cambridge, MA; and Justin B. Johnson and his wife, Shayne M. (Gardner) Johnson, of Norwood, MA. He was the adoring grandfather of Cooper M. Landsmann and twins, Maxwell R. Johnson and Declan Shea Johnson. He leaves his dear cousin, Helen Sargent of Kennebunk Port, ME; his extended family; and many dear friends.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Paul by gathering for a Memorial Visitation at a later date to be announced on this website.
