Paul D. Hamilton

November 5, 1935 — March 7, 2015

Paul D. Hamilton, 79, of North Attleboro, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2015. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (LaPalme) Hamilton to whom he was married for 49 years. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Paul S. and Grace H. (McKay) Hamilton. He was raised and educated in Brooklyn, New York and was a graduate of St. Francis College. Paul worked in data processing for the Augat Company. He was a member of the North Attleboro Representative Town Meeting and was awarded a Boy Scout Merit badge for his work with the Eagle Scouts of Old Colony Council. He was a former CCD teacher at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro Falls. He enjoyed being a member of the Writers Workshop at the Attleboro Council on Aging. He authored "Donald McKay and His Family" and the "200 Year History of the Dodgeville Mill". Paul enjoyed doing woodworking projects around his home. In addition to his wife, Paul leaves a son: Paul A. Hamilton and his wife, Rhonda A. (Piette) Hamilton, of Poughkeepsie, New York; a daughter: Becky J. Gumble and her husband, Thomas H. Gumble, of Windham, Maine; his beloved grandchildren: Jenna N. and Matthew T. Hamilton both of Poughkeepsie, New York; a sister: Dorothy L. Hamilton of Wellesley; a brother: Jerry Hamilton in Virginia and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Robert E. Hamilton of Falmouth, Maine. Paul was a kind and gentle person who was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed by both family and friends. A Celebration of His Life will be conducted privately.
