Patrick "P.J." Joseph McSweeney, II, 61, of Attleboro, peacefully passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016 at his home.Born on March 24, 1955 in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late James F. McSweeney and the late Madeline F. (McEvoy) McSweeney.P.J. was a graduate of Norwood High School, Class of 1974. He proudly and honorably served our country as a member of the United State Marine Corps. He worked for many years as a Truck Driver for various companies, and his safe driving record was honored through membership in the Million Mile club for having safely driven more than a million miles. He was a past member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.A resident of the Attleboro and North Attleboro area for many years, P.J. loved all life offered. He enjoyed camping, fishing, travel - especially his time in Reykjavik, Iceland, walks on the beach, the White Mountains of New Hampshire, time spent at Papoose Pond Campground in Waterford, Maine, anything up "North", Fourth of July and Thanksgiving dinner at Elaine's, his 18-wheeler, and brownies and ice cream. Above all, he treasured time spent with family. PJ is survived by his son: Patrick Joseph McSweeney, III of Attleboro, MA. He was the dear brother of the late Rita (McSweeney) Toner-Munn; Roy James McSweeney and his wife, Christine McSweeney, of AZ; James F. McSweeney and his late wife, Elizabeth McSweeney of NH; Elaine M. (McSweeney) Taylor and her husband, Arthur "Art" Taylor of Attleboro, MA; Susan T. (McSweeney) Fullerton and her husband, Edward D. Fullerton, of Attleboro, MA; and the late Nancy J. (McSweeney) McKinnon and her husband, James McKinnon, of Attleboro, MA. He leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins, among them his nephew, Eric, who was a friend, caregiver, trusted companion, and God-send to P.J.
