Patricia H. (Heintz) Ferland, 88, of Ash Street, North Attleboro, died on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Joseph Raymond Ferland who died on January 9, 1988 and had worshipped the ground his beloved and cherished wife walked on. Born in Plainville, Massachusetts on April 26, 1924, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Anna (Corrigan) Heintz. She was raised and educated in Plainville where she was a member of the Class of 1941 of Plainville High School. Mrs. Ferland was employed as a receptionist and dental assistant in the office of Dr. Edmund T. Walsh, D.D.S. in downtown North Attleboro until devoting herself to raising her family and being a dedicated homemaker. She was a communicant of St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro Falls. Mrs. Ferland treasured the time spent with her family and being the best Mom in the world to her beloved children. Her favorite pastimes included time spent with flowers and gardening and camping in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She attended Hillside Adult Day Health Center in Attleboro. Her family takes great comfort in the fact she often stated "she lived a wonderful life". She leaves five children: Jody Ferland of Narragansett, Rhode Island; Ann Ferland Zeigler and her husband, Bruce Zeigler, of Attleboro; Priscilla St. Pierre of North Attleboro; Peter G. Ferland of Marlboro and Paul Ferland of North Attleboro; eight grandchildren: Andrew Smith and his wife, Brooke Smith, of Nashua, NH; Garrett Smith of Dover, NH; Eric Zeigler of Houston, TX; Kathryn Zeigler Berdos and her husband, Stephen Berdos, of Attleboro; Brendan Zeigler of Attleboro; Ashleigh St. Pierre of Attleboro and Joseph and Amy St. Pierre both of North Attleboro and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the sister of the late Virginia Ruest, Edward Heintz, Robert Heintz and Willard Heintz. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, December 28,2 012 at 12:00 NOON at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley Street (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, turn right onto Stanley Street in ½ mile and travel to end of Stanley Street), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas A. Frechette, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be private in St. Mary's Cemetery, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Ferland's name may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to be distributed to an organization to be determined by the family in the future.
