Patricia Ruth (Holland) Elson ("Nana Patti"), 82, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully following medical complications she endured after having recently suffered a stroke. She was the beloved wife of David Elson.
Patricia was born on January 22, 1939 in Ridley Park, Delaware, the daughter of the late Joseph Holland and the late Helen (Atkins) Holland.
She met David, the true love of her life, at a Naval base in Philadelphia, and they were married on June 7, 1958 at a military ceremony. Following the birth of their two daughters and a move to Sharon, MA, they went on to begin their entrepreneurship dream of owning and operating the Pilgrim Restaurant located at 1472 Hancock Street, in Quincy, MA.
After a successful twenty-two years in the restaurant industry, Patricia transitioned her focus to taking loving care of her five grandchildren. Child-care became her calling and she went on to help countless other families and eventually her great-grandchildren who she absolutely lived for.
She loved music and loved going to church. Patricia volunteered with Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and taught the importance of tithing as "Buddy Barrel". She had a passion for Christian ministries and incorporated and infused her faith into her daily life and used this to nurture others as well.
Anyone who knew Patricia was consumed by her magnetic personality. She left a long-lasting impression on each and every person she came across. Her love for taking photos of her family, holiday decorating, yard sales, local sports Super Fan, and everything Elvis, are all amazing memories she has graced her family with, and which will serve as a lasting and loving tribute to her.
In addition to her husband, David, she leaves her daughter: Sheryle (Elson) DeGirolamo and her husband, Joe, of North Attleboro, MA; five grandchildren she adored: Kristen Flaherty (and Scott); Kim Tebbetts (and Dave); Katelyn Voorhis (and Alec); Kerin Norkum (and Brad); and Joseph DeGirolamo; and nine great-grandchildren she was so very proud of: Matthew, Nicholas, Jesse, Danika, Laney, Tucker, Juniper, Penelope, and Duke. She leaves behind many other close family friends, all of whom will sadly miss her.
Patricia was preceded in death by her dear daughter, Carol Lisa Elson, and her sisters: Rachel Rivell and Joanne Curry.
A Celebration of Patricia's life will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021 to share fond memories and stories.
Patricia's family appreciates all of the outpouring of love and support throughout this difficult time and would especially like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Rhode Island Comprehensive Stroke Center for all of their efforts and loving care.
In keeping with her loving and generous spirit, and she requested, Patricia's body will be donated to the Harvard Medical School for the advancement of medicine and science.
