Olivia Josephine (Ferrara) April, 56, of Pleasant Avenue, Attleboro; formerly of Taunton where she was raised and educated; died on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro after being diagnosed with a terminal illness the previous Friday. She was the loving wife of Nathan D. April to whom she was married on June 18, 1977. Born in San Jose, California on January 23, 1956, she was a daughter of the late David Ferrara and Olivia (Martin Soares) Paiva and was the stepdaughter of the late Alfred Paiva, Sr. She moved to Massachusetts from California as an infant and settled in Taunton where she resided until moving to Attleboro in 1977 following her marriage. She was a 1973 graduate of Taunton High School. Mrs. April was presently employed as a furnace runner for The Norking Company, Inc. in Attleboro for the past 13 years. Previously, Mrs. April was employed as a display coordinator for the Marathon Company in Attleboro. Her favorite pastimes included scrap booking, taking photographs of family and friends to capture lifelong memories and arts and crafts of all kinds including knitting, crocheting and painting. As an ardent crafter she enjoyed visiting local craft fairs. In addition to her husband of 35 years, she leaves her siblings: Domingos Ferrara of Taunton; Caroline Paiva of Acushnet; Nancy Sherwood of Taunton; Joseph Paiva of Goshen, Virginia; Daniel Paiva of Seekonk and Lisa Paiva, whom she lovingly raised as her daughter, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island; numerous nieces and nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Alfred Paiva, Jr. and the late Maureen Woodward.
