Norman Joseph Bellavance, 94, of North Attleboro, MA, peacefully passed away, with his wife, daughter, and grandson at his side, on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice Center in Providence, RI. He was the beloved husband of Irene Marie (Viau) Bellavance, to whom he was married on September 6, 1958 in St. Theresa's Church, South Attleboro, MA.Born on August 8, 1922 in Norton, MA, he was the son of the late Thomas Bellavance and the late Anna (Charette) Bellavance, and the step-son of the late Marie Bellavance.Norman proudly served our country in the United States Coast Guard from 1942 until his honorable discharge as a Seaman, First Class, in February 1946.He worked for many years as a Lead Person in the Stamp Room of The Robbins Company in Attleboro, MA before retiring. After retiring, he worked part-time at Willow Tree Farm in Attleboro, MA. A resident of North Attleboro since 1982, he previously lived in Attleboro, MA. Norman was a member of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro and St. Mark's Church in Attleboro Falls.Norman was a warm, loving, and generous man whose sparkling blue eyes and contagious laugh will forever be missed. He was a member of the American Legion, loved fishing, and helping others. He especially loved the company of his family and many friends, as well as his family's dogs and his late bird, "Babe". In addition to his loving wife, Irene, he is survived by his treasured daughter, Kim M. (Bellavance) Robinson and his adoring grandson, Ryan E. Robinson, both of Attleboro, MA. He leaves his twin sister, Anna (Bellavance) LaCross of Connecticut, several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.Norman was the father of the late Wayne Thomas Bellavance, the father-in-law of the late David "Rab" E. Robinson, Jr.; and the brother of the late Blanche (Bellavance) Wright, the late Arthur Bellavance, the late Roland Bellavance, the late Alice (Bellavance) Johnson, and the late Bertha Bellavance.Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Burial Services with full Military Honors on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Following the burial service, his family extends a warm invitation to all of Norman's friends and relatives, regardless of whether they were able to attend his service, for a luncheon and time of fellowship at 12:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 312, 437 Newport Avenue, South Attleboro, MA.In lieu of flowers, his family has requested that donations be made in Norman's memory to either the American Heart Association, 300 5th Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-8750 or at
