Nora Ann (Gafford) Mercer, 64, of Attleboro, MA died unexpectedly yet peacefully in her sleep at her residence in Attleboro, MA on July 7, 2025. She was the wife of Brian David Mercer to whom she was married on July 30, 1994.
Born in Attleboro, MA on August 4, 1960, she was a daughter of the late John "Hugo" Gafford and the late Annie "Ann" (Nona) Gafford. Raised and educated in the City of Attleboro, MA, Mrs. Mercer was a 1978 graduate of Attleboro High School and earned her associate's degree in social services from Bristol Community College.
She was a dedicated and devoted homemaker to her husband and children.
Mrs. Mercer was a longtime member of the Attleboro YMCA where she participated in swim therapy.
Times spent at the beach, gardening, listening to music, times spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren, conversing with new acquaintances and showing her love for animals.
In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters: Majenta Gafford and her husband, Gio Nardella, Sr., of North Brookfield, MA; three grandchildren: Eliana Nardella, Gio Nardella, Jr., Gemma Nardella all of North Brookfield, MA and and Alissa Mercer of Attleboro, MA; her siblings: Jay S. Gafford and his wife, Kimberly (Verdoia) Gafford, of Attleboro, MA and
Susan P. Gafford of Attleboro, MA; Angela Regan Birk of North Hampton, MA and Crystal Regan of North Hampton, MA; great nieces and nephews: Hannah D’Lassandro of North Hampton, MA and Sebastian D’Lassandro of North Hampton, MA and many extended family members and friends.
A private service will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at Rock Hill Cemetery, Foxboro, MA.
All are welcome to join the family for a Celebration of Life on Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm at the Attleboro Elks, 887 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA. Please wear your favorite "Nora outfit".
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to either the Attleboro Animal Shelter or the Attleboro Friends of Cats.
