Nilda Torres

Nilda Torres, 77, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Miguel Antonio Soler Torres. Born in Puerto Rico on October 21, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Pascual and Francisca (Morales) Torres.Nilda was educated in her native Puerto Rico, and worked for fifteen years as a Case Worker for New Hope in Attleboro before retiring in 2003. A resident of Attleboro for many years, she previously lived in North Attleboro, MA.She was a warm, caring, loving woman of deep faith. Nilda truly had a "green thumb", and she loved tending to her many plants. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning, and, most especially, spending time with her family.In addition to her husband, Miguel, Nilda was predeceased by her cherished children: Ivonne Medina, Miguel Soler, and Jannette Medina. She was the loving grandmother of Erik J. Medina of Tampa, FL; Venessa J. Medina of Attleboro, MA; Daniel I. Medina of Norton, MA; and Matthew M. Soler of Attleboro, MA; and the adoring great-grandmother of Anthony J. Medina, Anaya M. Tiburcio, and Natalia I. Medina. She leaves four brothers in Puerto Rico, and was predeceased by her sister. Nilda leaves many nieces and nephews and her extended family, both near and far.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Nilda by gathering for a Visitation on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA, immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 3:00 p.m. at Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
