Nelson Decampos Paulo

Nelson DeCampos Paulo, 53, of Palm Street, Attleboro, died on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro following a period of declining health. Born in San Paolo, Brazil on February 1, 1960, he was a son of the late Alfredo DeCampos Paulo and Eduarda Estrella (Pereira) Paulo. Mr. Paulo resided in Brazil prior to immigrating to the United States and settling in the City of Attleboro in 1967. In his youth, he and his family were communicants of the former Holy Ghost Church in Attleboro and he served as an altar boy. He was a talented artist having utilized free hand and airbrushing to express his artistic illustrations. One of his favorite pastimes was the time spent on his home computer. Mr. Paulo was employed for many years for the Steward Construction Company in Newport, Rhode Island as a laborer and construction worker prior to the onset of his illness a few years ago. True to his heritage, he was a member of the Portuguese-American Club in Attleboro. In addition to his mother, he leaves two brothers: Robert Paulo of Attleboro and Joseph Paulo of Attleboro; two nieces: Lisa Paulo and Samantha Paulo and several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family members. He was the brother of the late Nelson Paulo who died in 1956 in Brazil at the age of six months and whom he was later named after. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Those in need of a ride to visitation may simply call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Funeral services and burial will be private. Children's room available during visitation. Following visitation an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of fellowship and refreshment at a location to be announced.
