Neil Francis "Buck" Cassidy, 76, of Attleboro, MA passed away at his residence surrounded by his loving family on February 11, 2024. He was the beloved husband of Betsey Jane (Baker) Cassidy to whom he was married on May 12, 1973.
Born in Attleboro, MA on August 1, 1947, he was a son of the late Alvin Raymond Cassidy and the late Veronica Madeline (Habershaw) Cassidy. Raised and educated in the City of Attleboro, Mr. Cassidy was a graduate of Attleboro High School - Class of 1965. During high school, he was a member of the Attleboro Boys Basketball team that won the state championship at the Boston Garden. He earned his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Tufts University.
Mr. Cassidy was employed as a technical sales representative for the former Foxboro Company for several years prior to working for CPI Controls in Pawtucket, RI from where he retired.
He and his family are parishioners of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Attleboro.
For many years he was a coach for his daughters' sports teams. An avid sportsman, he continued his love for basketball and enjoyed softball, golf, tennis and squash as a life member of the Attleboro YMCA.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his cherished daughters: Erin E. Cassidy-Lunman and her husband, Jonathan Lunman, of Sharon, MA and Lindsay R. Cassidy and her partner, Will Wagner, of Portsmouth, RI; five grandchildren: Nicolas, Adam, Lily, Maxwell and Violet; his sister: Leslie A. Cassidy of New York City, New York; several extended family members and dear friends.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Visitation on Friday, February 23, 2024, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA with reflections spoken during visitation.
Funeral services and burial will be private.
All are welcome to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments on Friday, February 23, 2024, beginning at 6:00 pm with the family joining after visitation at the Attleboro Elks Lodge, 887 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA.
Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations in Neil's name and honor may be made to the Attleboro YMCA, 63 North Main Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
