Nancy Jean (Godin) Roy, 73, of North Attleboro, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2025, at Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro.
Born in Pawtucket, RI on Oct. 9, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Eugene E. Godin and the late Lucille D. (Holst) Godin.
Raised and educated in North Attleboro, she was a graduate of North Attleboro High School, Class of 1969. She received an associate’s degree in social work from the Community College of Rhode Island where she was a member of Phi Beta Cappa.
As a dedicated and devoted social worker, she was an employee at Norcap Lodge in Norton for many years, and at various transitional houses for both women and men.
Nancy treasured her time spent with family creating lifelong memories. Her happiest times were those spent in the company of her beloved grandchildren. Her family recalls with fondness, her sense of humor, her big heart and her ability to find the silver lining.
Throughout her life some of her interests included dancing, reading, crafting, sewing, and gaining knowledge.
She leaves three children: Tammie L. Hall and her husband Bruce A. Hall of North Attleboro, Todd M. Sawyer and his wife Jennifer J Sawyer of Dracut, MA, and Tiffany L. Sawyer and her husband John H. DeLuca of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren: Lia A. Hall, Sawyer A. Hall, Peter W. Sawyer, Ethan M. Sawyer and Nicolas R. Sawyer; her sister Linda L. Salveson and her husband John J. Salveson of Fort Walton Beach, FL; and many extended family members and dear friends.
Family and friends are welcome to attend visitation on Monday, March 10 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m. immediately following the conclusion of visitation.
