Nancy Ellen (Morrison) Mochrie, 70 Dedicated Homemaker and Day Care Provider Nancy Ellen (Morrison) Mochrie, 70, of Granite Street, North Attleboro, died on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island from injuries sustained in a fall at her residence the previous day. She was the wife of Robert David Mochrie, Sr. to whom she was married on December 23, 1960. Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on August 16, 1941, she was a daughter of the late George and Florence (Voos) Morrison. She was a graduate of Danbury (Connecticut) High School - Class of 1959. Mrs. Mochrie resided in North Attleboro for the past 38 years having previously resided in Spain, Morocco and Danbury, Connecticut. She was a dedicated homemaker to her family and was also the owner and operator of an in-home day care. Little People Family Day Care, at her home in North Attleboro for more than 15 years prior to her retirement in 2000. Her favorite pastimes included knitting, crocheting, gardening, yard work and home improvement projects. An ardent sports enthusiast, Mrs. Mochrie was a devoted fan of the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Celtics and Boston Bruins. She will be lovingly remembered for her zest for life and her immense energy level. One of her favorite times were those spent with the family particularly around the holiday seasons. In addition to her husband, she leaves two daughters: Wendy J. Mousseau of North Attleboro, Massachusetts and Jennifer E. Mochrie of North Attleboro, Massachusetts; two sons: George S. Mochrie of Coventry, Rhode Island and Master Chief Andrew B. Mochrie, U.S. Navy, of St. Mary's, Georgia; eleven grandchildren and one great grandson and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the mother of the late Robert David Mochrie, Jr. who died on January 7, 2007. Private visitation will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 from 4:00 - 6:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 at 10:00 AM in the sanctuary of Murray Unitarian-Universalist Church, 505 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro, Massachusetts officiated by Rev. Sandra Fitz-Henry, Pastor. Burial will be private. Following services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of fellowship, refreshment and continuation of the celebration of her life in the "Unity Room" of Murray Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Mochrie's name and honor may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) (3) organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the American Cancer Society.
