Nancy Joan (Kindberg) Kieon, 78, of Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Epoch of Norton. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on November 9, 1934, she was a daughter of the late J. G. "George" and Margaret (Jepson) Kindberg. A lifelong resident of North Attleboro, Mrs. Kieon was a 1952 graduate of North Attleboro High School. She later graduated from the former Fanny Farmer School of Cooking in Boston. For more than 20 years, Mrs. Kieon was employed as an order analyst for the L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro. She had also been employed by the former Nifty Nook in North Attleboro and for the North Attleboro School Department Food Service Department. A gourmet cook and fabulous decorator, Mrs. Kieon was known within her family as the "original Martha Stewart". She devoted herself to her family and they were of the most importance in her heart. Mrs. Kieon joined the First Congregational "Oldtown" Church on Old Post Road in North Attleboro on June 25, 1978. She served on numerous committees and was a very active member for countless years. At church, she and Louise Fiske organized the famous Saturday night dinners and surprised the church with a beautiful cake designed as the church for the 275th anniversary celebration. Mrs. Kieon served as a member of the 275th anniversary committee, was a member of the Christian Education Committee and served as both the Sunday School Superintendent and Church Deaconess. She leaves three children: Stanley Michael Kieon, III and his wife, Patricia Kieon, in North Carolina; Mark Jon Kieon, Sr. and his wife Esta (Gilmore) Kieon, of Westerly, Rhode Island and Kristofor G. Kieon and his wife, Debra L. (Lamoureux) Kieon, of North Attleboro; seven grandchildren: Kris, Jon, Mark Jr., Andrew, Heath, Morgan and Bree; a brother: Karl Kindberg in Arizona and several extended family members and dear friends. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Celebration of Her Life Memorial Service on WEDNESDAY, JULY 3, 2013 at 3:00 PM at the First Congregational "Oldtown" Church, 675 Old Post Road, North Attleboro, with the Rev. Kelly K. Thibeault, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private. Following church services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in Maxcy Hall at the church.
