Nancy Mae (Conant) Gomes, 85, of Plainville, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 3, 2018 at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Alfred E. Gomes Jr., who died on September 15, 2009.Born on November 28, 1932 in Dedham, MA, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Sarah (Miller) Conant.Nancy was a graduate of Dedham High School and worked in Data Entry for many years at the Norfolk & Dedham Group in Dedham before retiring in 1992.A resident of Plainville for the past fifteen years, she previously lived in Westwood, MA. A woman of faith, Nancy was a member of the Plainville Baptist Church. She enjoyed cake decorating, playing Boggle with her sisters every Tuesday and Sunday, painting on wood, and, more than anything, spending time with her cherished family.She was the loving mother of Laurie J. Lyons and her husband, Paul H. Lyons, of Norwood, MA; Janet S. Ziegert and her husband, David J. Ziegert, of Mount Carmel, PA; Carla M. Morante and her husband, Paul F. Morante, of Uxbridge, MA; and Wendy L. Hellmuth and her husband, Ken G. Hellmuth, of East Taunton, MA. Nancy was the adoring grandmother of eighteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She leaves her dear sisters: Marion Clark of Medway, MA; Esther Carter of Plainville, MA; Helen Skaanning of North Attleboro, MA; and Betty Hopkins of Temecula, CA; and was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters. She leaves numerous nieces and nephews and many dear friends.Friends and family are cordially invited to honor and remember Nancy by gathering for a Visitation on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
