Nancy Anne Birch

Nancy A. (Cacicio) Birch of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at the age of 77. She was the beloved wife and dearest friend of the late Dr. James H. Birch, Jr.

She was a daughter of the late George T. Cashman and the late Dorothy (Riley) Cashman. Nancy was the loving mother with her late former husband and close friend, Robert Rao, to Brad Rao of Attleboro, MA and the late Meredith V. Rao.

Nancy was the cherished grandmother of Jocelyn N. Taylor of Attleboro, MA and was the stepmother to five wonderful children and step-grandmother to seven loving kids.

Born in Winthrop, MA, she resided there until into her 20's when she moved to Attleboro, MA. Nancy was a UMASS Boston graduate where she received her degree in nursing and became a registered nurse. She had a beyond successful career in nursing as an emergency room nurse before spending her last ten years before retirement as a hospice nurse.

She enjoyed spending time with friends, family and her loving dogs, lounging on the beach, reading a good book, playing Scrabble and volunteering at Habitat for Humanity.

Her family would like to express their gratitude to Hope Health Hospice, their private aides, Hulitar Hospice House, Dana Farber Brigham Cancer Center and Milford Regional Hospital for their outstanding care. A special thank you as well to Karen Landry, Erin Kelly, Stephen Birch and Patricia Fried.

Family and friends are cordially invited to attend Visitation on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, any time from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed immediately by a Funeral Service at 7:00 p.m.

Private burial will be in Mt. St. Mary’s Cemetery, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.
