Muriel Ilene (Soutter) Larson, 81, Watson Avenue, Attleboro died on June 19, 2013. Born in December of 1931 in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Robert Soutter and Dorothy (Randlett) Soutter. Mrs. Larson graduated from Lowell High School and completed her formal education at the Lowell State Teacher's College, completing a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1953. After graduation, she moved to Newton, where she taught second grade. In 1955, Muriel married Ray E. Larson and moved to Attleboro where she resided until her death. After marriage, she was a dedicated homemaker and active community member while raising her family. Mrs. Larson was a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church in Attleboro and an active volunteer and church community leader. Mrs. Larson served as a Sunday School teacher at the Church. She was a community leader, serving as choir member, an active member of the Women's Bible Study Group - as well as a member of the Fall Church Fair committee. She taught remedial reading for children and volunteered at Sturdy Memorial Hospital. A skilled seamstress, she both taught sewing and co-owned the "Attleboro Fabric Shop", which once operated on Pleasant Street, Attleboro. Mr. and Mrs. Larson were avid world travelers and took great pride in their large, tight-knit family. In addition to her husband Ray, she leaves her children Alan P. Larson and his wife Meredith S. Larson of Rehoboth; Eric T. Larson and his wife Carolyn T. Larson of Londonderry, NH; and Lois E. Larson of Sutton. She was also blessed with many grandchildren: Carl and his wife Michelle Larson of Greenwood, SC; Scott Larson; Emily Larson - both of Rehoboth; Nathan Larson of Concord, NH; Katelyn Larson of Washington, DC; Brita Larson of Boston; Anna Larson of Londonderry, NH; and Mia Larson of Sutton. Mrs. Larson was sister to the late Elinor Bullard of Falmouth, and Janet Tellier of Lowell. Public visitation has been respectfully omitted. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Funeral Service on Monday, July 1, 2013 at 2 pm in the sanctuary of the Evangelical Covenant Church, 841 North Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro, with the Reverend Douglas J. Bixby, Senior Pastor, officiating. The funeral procession will proceed by foot to the graveside committal service at North Purchase Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
