Muriel E. (Doble) Correia, 92, of the Daggett-Crandall- Newcomb Home, Newland Street, Norton, formerly of Beverly; died on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the residence where she had been a resident since 2009. She was the cherished wife of the late Frank Joseph Correia to whom she was married for 43 years prior to his death on July 29, 2010. She was also the wife of the late Thomas F. Troy. Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts on May 15, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Burton Doble, Sr. and Helen (Pratt) Doble. She resided in Whitman prior to moving to Beverly where she resided for 42 years until moving to Norton in 2009. Mrs. Correia was a 1937 graduate of Weymouth High School and earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the former Bridgewater Normal College in 1941. She was an 8th grade English teacher having taught for many years at the Weymouth Junior High School and the Whitman Junior High School. Mrs. Correia attended the Christian Science Church of Beverly. At church she served as a volunteer for many activities and functions and as a reader. She enjoyed gardening, baking and cooking. Mrs. Correia leaves two daughters: Frances P. Walsh of Chino Hills, California and Dianne E. Thrasher of Duxbury; three grandchildren: Caitlin Walsh of Chino Hills, California; Kimberly Prince of Amherst and Noelle Thrasher of Duxbury; three siblings: Marjorie Carpenter of Attleboro Falls; Burton Bud Doble, Jr. of Plainville and C. Jane Caldwell of South Hadley and several nieces, nephews, extended family members, members of the Correia family and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Robert Doble, Walter Doble, Helen Moran and Dorothy Bennett. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Celebration of Her Life on Thursday, June 9, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Carole L. Baker, Pastor of the Central Congregational Church, Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, officiating. Private burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro. Following services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
