Muriel A. (Sherry) Burgess, 90, North Attleboro, MA., passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at The Branches of North Attleboro.
She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond A. Burgess.
Born in Pawtucket, RI., on June 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (McKitchen) Sherry.
Muriel was passionate about reading and enjoyed long walks. She delighted in visiting multiple casinos, where she spent hours playing the slot machines. With family and friends, she traveled around the country, went on cruises, and even camped in tents to trailers. Lunches planned with “the girls” were enjoyed every month. She appreciated time with family picnics at Colt State Park, trips to Cape Cod, and special family gatherings since they would include her favorite foods, bacon & desserts. Visits with her grandchildren and great children brought so much joy to Muriel.
She is survived by her loving children, Nancy Reynolds and her husband, Kerry of Tyner, North Carolina, Thomas Burgess and his wife, Rosalie-Mary of Attleboro, MA., Richard Burgess and his wife, Patricia of North Attleboro, MA., Stephen Burgess of North Attleboro, MA., Kathleen Wegiel and her husband, John of Plainville, MA., and David Burgess and his wife Joan of North Attleboro, MA. She is also survived by 12 cherished grandchildren, 11 dear great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was the devoted sister of the late, Joseph M. Sherry Jr., Vincent Sherry, Raymond Sherry, Mary Florence Allcock and Theresa Drezek.
Relatives and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Sunday, September 22, 2024, from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm in the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 9:00 am from the “Memorial Chapel” of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Transfiguration of the Lord Parish, St. Mark’s Church, 105 Stanley Street, North Attleboro, MA.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 326 Towne Street, North Attleboro, MA.
