Miriam Elizabeth Isles Martin

Miriam Elizabeth Isles Martin, 89, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning April 14, 2020 in Attleboro.  She was the beloved wife of the late Alford Mitchell Martin for 54 years, who died in 2011.
Miriam was born Feb 20,1931, and raised in Davy Hill, Plymouth, Montserrat, St. Peter's Parish.  She was the daughter of the late Florence Alberta Isles.  Miriam and her mother moved to St. Johns, Antigua and she married in 1956 at Swetes Pilgrim Holiness Church.
In her later years she moved her family to St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands. She worked for several years in the hospitality industry and later "retired", doing other things she enjoyed such as driving a Taxi and playing her Grand Piano. She was a longtime active Member of First Wesleyan Holiness Church in the Virgin Islands.  In 2013, Miriam then moved to Attleboro to seek medical treatment for her injuries.
She is survived by nine children: Valarie Martin Molyneaux, Junice Martin Crawford, Kingsley Martin, Elbert Martin, Florence Martin Henry, Lucille Martin, Moressa Martin Olive, David Martin, and Diane Martin. She counted several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her extended family, and many good friends. Miriam was predeceased by three siblings.
Unquestionably, the center of Miriam's life was her family. She was a devoted mother to her nine children, making personal sacrifices throughout her life in order to provide a loving and supportive home.
A Graveside Service will be held for Miriam on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.
