Mihaly "Mike" Kalo, 74, of South Attleboro, passed away on Monday, September 19, 2016 at his home. He was the beloved husband of Nellie (O'Callaghan) Kalo, to whom he was wed on August 21, 1965.He was born on January 6, 1942 in Kal, Hungary. A resident of South Attleboro for than past fifty years, Mike worked for many years reconditioning bumpers for Astro Plating in Providence, RI, and for New England Bumper in East Providence, RI. He was a communicant of St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish in South Attleboro. Mike enjoyed gardening and working in his yard; loved animals, most especially "Chico", his faithful Chihuahua; and traveling: to Arizona for three months each year, on cruises, to Ireland, and most recently to his native Hungary, where he delighted in visiting for one month. He truly valued time spent with his family.He leaves his wife, Nellie, and was the loving father of Michael Stephen Kalo and his wife, Dawn Kalo, of Illinois; and the late Susan M. Kalo-Finn. He was the brother of Berci Yanosne of Hungary, and the late Steve Kalo and the late Emimre Kalo. Mike leaves several nieces and nephews and many dear friends. Friends and family are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, ¾ mile on the left) Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 23, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. at St. Theresa of the Child Jesus Parish, 18 Baltic Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.Children's room is available during the visitation.Those in need of a local ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such complimentary transportation.
