Worshipful Master Michael Anthony Ouellette, Bristol A.F. & A.M., age 53, of Attleboro, MA passed away suddenly and unexpectedly at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, MA on January 14, 2025, after having been stricken ill at his residence. He was the longtime companion of Deborah J. (Anthony) Owens with whom he resided.
He was born in Attleboro, MA on December 6, 1971, the son of the late Linda (Ouellette) Rocha. He was raised and educated in the City of Attleboro where he was a graduate of Attleboro High School.
Michael was employed as a steel worker until becoming disabled due to a work injury.
He found his true happiness and purpose when he was elected to the Bristol Lodge A.F. & A.M. – North Attleboro, MA on October 16, 2012. He was then initiated on November 20, 2012, and raised on March 19, 2013.
In 2024, he became the Worshipful Master of Bristol Lodge and still held that position at the time of his death.
He was the recipient of the Masonic Rookie Award on March 18, 2014, and the Master Builder’s Award on February 17, 2015. He had been a Master Mason for 11 years.
Michael was elected to the York Rite on June 12, 2013, when he received the Mark Master Mason degree. In September 2013, he passed the Chair (past master’s degree, chapter).
In October of 2013, Mr. Ouellette received the Most Excellent Master and soon thereafter received the Royal Arch masonic degree and was elected to the council.
In 2014, he served as royal master, select master councils and super excellent master council and was elected Commandery. He joined the order of Red Cross and order of Malta and was knighted on June 19, 2015.
Just last December he became an honorary life member of Phoenix RAC.
In 2013, he was initiated into the Order of the Eastern Star of the Hope Chapter in Attleboro and served as worthy patron from 2014- 2016.
Always willing to lend a hand and help others, he was a frequent volunteer at Food N Friends coordinating fellow Brothers to assist the needy.
Michael was instrumental in the support and recognition of Troop 23 of North Attleboro and was present during the Eagle Scout Court of Honor having often coordinating dinners to recognize the scouts’ achievements.
In addition to his longtime companion, he leaves his children: Robert E. Owens and his wife, Alice Owens, of Rehoboth, MA; Randi-Lee Owens of North Smithfield, RI; Andrew J. Owens of Seekonk, MA and Tanisha Dyer of Taunton, MA; his grandchildren: Jeremy Deaguiar, Jr. – the youngest Mason ever in the Commonwealth of MA on October 30, 2024; Phoebe Owens and Jace Deaguiar; his former son-in-law: Jeremy Deaguiar, Sr. of Pawtucket, RI; his siblings: Nichole A. Forbes of South Attleboro, MA and Jennifer M. Woodson and her husband, Albert D. Woodson, of Douglas, MA; his sister-in-law: Lisa M. Sanford and her husband, Russell Sanford, of Attleboro, MA; his stepfather: Ernest Rocha of Attleboro, MA, several extended family members, fellow Masonic brothers and members of the Order of the Eastern Star and may cherished friends.
Family, friends and brethren are warmly welcome to attend a visitation with Masonic honors on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Bristol Lodge, 46 South Washington Street, North Attleboro, MA followed by a Masonic Ritual Service and Funeral Service commencing at 7:00 pm.
An invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at Bristol Lodge following services.
Burial will be private.
