Michael Robert Messier

Michael Robert Messier, 65, of Warwick, RI, a native of Attleboro, MA, passed away unexpectedly on November 11, 2024, at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH.

Born in Attleboro, MA on March 4, 1959, he was a son of the late William Messier and the late Dorothy (Leach) Blanchard. Raised and educated in Attleboro, Mike was a 1977 graduate of Attleboro High School, and he remained a lifelong resident of the greater Attleboro area.

Mike had been employed as an applications specialist for Meditech for nearly 20 years and recently retired in the spring.

He was a lifelong hockey player who played locally and was an active supporter of the local music scene, always frequenting local establishments to watch and listen to local bands. He was also a drummer for much of his life, playing off and on in the local circuit with various bands.

His friend circle was sprawling, having had many friends from his childhood and made many new ones throughout his life, whether it be at work or play.

Family meant everything to him, he loved his children and his grandchildren very much.

He leaves his children: Ryan Messier and his wife, Angela Messier, in Florida; Eric Messier in Florida and Brett Messier in North Carolina. He is also remembered by his former wife Mary-Ellen Goulet, mother of his children, with whom he spent many meaningful years, and by his former wife Lorraine Messier, with whom he shared years of love and friendship. He is survived by two grandchildren: Mary Kate and James Messier, both in Florida. He is also survived by his fiancé, Diane Simmons, of Warwick, RI, with whom he resided and who brought him great happiness and fulfillment in his later years. He also leaves behind his dear cousin, Lynn Blake, of Attleboro, along with extended family members and friends.

Please join us for a Time of Remembrance where all are welcome to pay respects and greet the family on Thursday, November 21, 2024, between 10:00 am until 12:00 noon in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

Following the Time of Remembrance, friends and family are cordially invited to a Celebration of Life reception at Attleboro Elks, 887 S. Main St., beginning at 12:30pm, to share memories and connect with loved ones.
