Michael D. Harrison, 62, of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly at the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island in Pawtucket on May 11, 2011. Born in Pawtucket, RI and a lifelong resident, he was the son of Edmund J. and Yvette T. (DeBlois) Harrison of Pawtucket. Michael was a computer programmer at Amica Insurance prior to illness. He was also the former Director of Music at St. Marks Church in North Attleboro, MA, an organist at the Cathedral of Sts. Peter & Paul, Providence, RI, and taught piano and organ privately. Mike was a small aircraft pilot, enjoyed travelling, gardening and music. He was a member of the Peloquin Chorale for many years. An Eagle Scout, Mike graduated from St. Cecelias School, St. Raphael Academy, and received degrees from Providence College and the former Barrington College. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers, Dennis E. Harrison of Pawtucket, RI and Ronald J. and wife, Barbara (Zompa) Harrison of St. Ivins, UT. He was the uncle of Christopher and wife, Stephanie, Scott and wife, Kathleen, Kathryn and fianc, Dennis Walsh, and Alexandra. He was also the loving great uncle of Madison, Hunter, Oceannah, Colby, Mackenzie and Sophia. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilias Church, Pawtucket. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in his name and honor may be made to the American Heart Association, 222 Richmond St., Ste 108, Providence, RI 02903.
