Michael Joseph Gruslin, 72, of Landry Avenue, North Attleboro, died on April 21, 2015 at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Barbara Ann (Pellerin) Gruslin to whom he was married on November 26, 1994. He was the former husband of Adell (Aikman) Gruslin of Longmeadow. Born in Rockville Center, Long Island, New York on February 23, 1943, he was a son of the late Joseph P. and Winifred H. (Ryan) Gruslin. He was a 1960 graduate of Elmira Free Academy and he graduated from Corning Community College and Elmira College. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served from his induction on August 11, 1966 until his honorable discharge on August 2, 1968 during the Vietnam War era. Mr. Gruslin was the Vice President of Finance and Administration for Mason Box Company in North Attleboro for 13 years until his retirement 7 years ago. He had a long distinguished career in the accounting and finance field and was previously employed by, among other firms, Coopers & Lybrand, now Price Waterhouse Coopers, in Boston and AMF in Waterbury, Connecticut. He resided in North Attleboro since 1982 having moved to the community from Watertown, Connecticut. Mr. Gruslin was a devoted sports fan particularly of the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New England Patriots which he was a proud season ticket holder. He enjoyed bowling and treasured the time spent with his family creating lifelong memories. In addition to his wife and former spouse, he leaves a daughter: Andrea G. (Gruslin) Klanderman and her husband, Eric W. Klanderman, of Longmeadow; two grandchildren: Jacob M. Klanderman and Sophia L. Klanderman both of Longmeadow; a sister: Katie Meen in South Carolina; a brother-in-law: Peter Pellerin and his fiancé, Diane Benoit, both of Plainville; his stepmother: Margaret Haesloop-Gruslin of Horseheads, New York; five nieces, extended family members and many dear friends particularly his friend of more than 50 years: Daniel "Danny" Pautz in New York. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, April 26, 2015 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Family and friends are welcome to attend the Funeral Service at the conclusion of visitation on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at 3:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be private at a later date at Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro. Please do not send flowers.
