Michael R. Dupelle, 71, of North Attleboro, died on Fathers Day, June 19, 2011 at his residence surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Mary Ann (Chizook) Dupelle to whom he was married on January 26, 1963. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on April 5, 1940, he was a son of Hedley A. Dupelle of North Attleboro and the late Katherine E. (McCarthy) Dupelle. A lifelong resident of North Attleboro, Mr. Dupelle was a 1958 graduate of North Attleboro High School and earned his BSIE from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1963. A professional engineer, Mr. Dupelle held various engineering jobs with companies including Itek of Lexington, L. G. Balfour Company in Attleboro and Marine Optical Company in Boston from 1963 1970. From 1970 - 1975, he was the plant manager for the Univis Frame Company in North Attleboro and from 1975 -1982 was Vice President of the frame division of Itek in charge of Univis, Kelly and Huber in Philadelphia and OWP in Passau, Germany. In 1982, Mr. Dupelle founded Bio-Detek, Inc., a manufacturing company making medical electrodes for heart monitoring and external pads for pacing and automatic defibrillation of the heart, located in Pawtucket, Rhode Island. He served as the company President for 20 years until 2002 when he stepped down as President and entered semi retirement as he continued to work at the firm he founded as the Chief Technology Officer. During this tenure he designed more than 20 patents on electrodes for automatic external defibrillation and pacing of the heart. He enjoyed traveling and was an ardent golfer and member of the Highland Country Club. His happiest times were those spent in the company of his family. Mr. Dupelle was a lifelong communicant of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, North Attleboro. In addition to his wife of 48 years and his father, he leaves two children: Lisa D. Hausmann and her husband, Randy Hausmann, of North Attleboro and Michael A. Dupelle and his partner, Timothy Haney, of Foxboro; two grandchildren: Stephen M. Hausmann and Julia S. Hausmann both of North Attleboro; three sisters: Virginia Phipps and her husband, Kevin L. Phipps, of North Attleboro; Eileen Gould and her husband, Maxwell G. Gould, of North Attleboro and Ann Dailey of North Attleboro and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. David A. Costa, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Childrens room available during visitation and while the funeral cortege is being organized. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced.
