Michael Joseph Calamari, Jr., 86, of Sycamore Place, Plainville, Massachusetts, died at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts. He was the beloved husband of Eileen V. (Donovan) Calamari to whom he was married for 62 cherished years. Born in New York City, New York on May 11, 1927, he was raised and educated in New York City and resided in Manhasset Hills, Long Island, New York from 1965 until moving to Plainville, Massachusetts in 2006. Mr. Calamari proudly served in the United States Army during the World War II era. Mr. Calamari was the founder, owner and operator of Crescent Cutters, Inc., an independent film company, where Mr. Calamari served as film editor for more than 45 years and was the multiple time recipient of the CLEO Award. He was a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures. Since moving to Plainville, Mr. Calamari was a communicant of St. Martha Parish. Endlessly dedicated to his profession, he was equally devoted to his beloved and cherished family. In addition to his wife of 62 years, he leaves three children: Suzanne Saville of Plainville; Michael J. Calamari III of East Rockaway, Long Island, New York and Matthew F. Calamari of Glen Head, Long Island, New York; seven grandchildren; and several extended family members and dear friends. William Lohan, officiating. Entombment with military honors will follow Swan Point Cemetery Redwood Mausoleum, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence, Rhode Island. Following cemetery services an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments at a location to be announced.
