Michael Francis Avery, Sr., 61, of Tyson Place, South Attleboro, died following a long illness on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the husband of Kathleen A. (Donohue) Avery to whom he was married on July 18, 2000. Born in Whitman, Massachusetts on December 17, 1950, he was a son of the late Edward and Clara (Westgate) Avery. He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. Mr. Avery worked as the warehouse manager for Sunco Cabinets in Easton, Massachusetts for fifteen years before retiring several years ago due to his ongoing illness. He resided in South Attleboro for eight years, previously living in Whitman. He attended the Good News Bible Chapel in Attleboro. His favorite pastimes included fresh and salt water fishing, watching the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots, collecting sports memorabilia, going camping and hiking along nature trails, attending yard sales and flea markets and spending time with his beloved canine boxer companions. In addition to his wife he leaves seven children: Kristen Donohue, Devan Donohue and Briahna McKinley all of Attleboro; Andrea Avery of Brockton; Michael F. Avery, Jr. of East Bridgewater; Mark Avery of East Bridgewater and Paul Handrickson of Taunton; six grandchildren; one great granddaughter; his siblings Cheryl Haskell; his twin, Linda Hathaway; Edward Avery; Donna Dorosz; Tami Harris; Patrick Avery; William Avery; Susan Livrago and numerous friends. He was father to the late Jillian Katherine Donohue who passed on April 18, 2010 and brother to the late James Avery. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Friday, October 5, 2012 from 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
