Melody Monaghan Born Paul Anthony Lynch Ii

Melody Monaghan, 33, born Paul Anthony Lynch II, of Boston, MA, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021.
Born on December 29, 1987, in Providence, RI, she was the beloved child of Nancy E. (Reyer) Lynch of Mapleville, RI, and Paul Francis Lynch of Fort Myers, FL.
A graduate of Smithfield (RI) High School, Class of 2006, she attended Rhode Island College and Boston University, where she studied anthropology. Melody worked in customer service in the human resources department of CVS.
A resident of Boston since May 2021, she previously lived in Chepachet, RI.
A woman of faith, Melody attended St. John the Evangelist Parish in Hopkinton, MA, where she was very active and a member of the church choir.
From a young age, Melody had a love of music - of all kinds. She enjoyed singing, having been a member of her high school choir; playing the piano and the flute; being a DJ, and being a part of the metalhead and goth communities. Melody also had an eye for fashion. She was active in the International Socialist Organization and the LBGTQ community.
More than anything, Melody cherished her family and those in her life fortunate enough to have been her friend. Her warmth, sense of humor, and thoughtfulness will always be remembered.
In addition to her parents, she leaves her loving siblings: Daniel Tyler Lynch and his wife, Lyza P. Lynch, of North Attleboro, MA; and Zella Janelle Lynch and her partner, Alexa E. Starzyk, of Southington, CT. She leaves her best friend, Amanda Calder, of Winooski, VT; many aunts, uncles, and cousins; her extended family; many, many dear friends; her former spouse, Leigh Monaghan; and her former mother-in-law, Marianne O'Neill, of Bellingham, MA.
Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 20 Church Street, Hopkinton, MA.
Burial will follow in Acotes Hill Cemetery, Chepachet, RI.
At the family's request, visitors at the visitation, the Mass, and the burial are expected to wear a face mask at all times.
In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations may be made in Melody's name made to benefit suicide prevention or the LGBTQ community.
