MayBelle Ursula (Dunn) Nielsen, 92, of East Providence, Rhode Island passed away on February 10, 2024, at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice in Providence, Rhode Island.
Born on April 15, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Dunn and Violet (Crosby) Dunn.
Raised and educated in Providence, RI, Mrs.Nielsen was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School.
Many years ago, she was the store manager of the Fannie Farmer store in the Lincoln Mall and later worked for 15 years as a customer service representative at Showcase Cinemas in Seekonk, MA.
Among her favorite pastimes were playing Wii bowling, spending time reading and watching movies, her beloved cats - "Mya" and the late "Pretty Girl" but most of all creating memories with her beloved family,
She was the cherished mother of five children: Eric S. Nielsen and his wife, Susan, in Florida; Joyce Therrien and her husband, Raymond, of Pawtucket, RI; Diane E. Thompson of Atlteboro, MA; Kathleen Joly and her husband, Marc, of Chepachet, RI and Patricia Morales in Pennsylvania..
In addition she leaves several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and a sister: Phyllis Royx in Connecticut.
She was the sister of the late Mary Kenyon and Madeline Manchester.
Family and friends are invited to join the funeral procession on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 10:45 am at the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro followed by an 11:00 am graveside service at the Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, Mount Hope Street, North Attleboro, MA.
There will be no services within the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in MayBelle's name and honor may be made to either the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty of Animals or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
