Maxine S. Chamberlain, 71, of North Attleboro, MA, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard J. Chamberlain, who died on May 24, 2007.Born on October 23, 1945 in Chicota, TX, she was the daughter of the late T.J. Shipman and the late Alma Shipman.A resident of North Attleboro since 1983, Maxine previously lived in Kansas. She was a graduate of Dean Junior College, from where she received her business degree. She worked for the Town of North Attleboro for more than twenty years in the office of the Police Department and in the billing department of the Solid Waste Department. Maxine enjoyed work as a sales representative for Avon and worked for two years as a Caregiver for Home Instead in Attleboro, MA.She enjoyed crocheting blankets for her cherished grandchildren and watching them play sports. She and her late husband were members of the North Attleboro Elks, and enjoyed trips back south to visit her family. Above all, Maxine simply loved the company of her children, grandchildren, and family.Maxine will be remembered as a kind, generous and caring woman by those who knew her.She is survived by her beloved children: Timothy W. Smith of Claremore, OK; Cynthia D. Meacham and her husband, Jimmy Meacham, of Chapel Hill, TN; and April D. Mooney of North Attleboro, MA. She was the adoring grandmother of eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Maxine was the sister of Royce Shipman, Jerry Shipman, Jeff Shipman, and Jane Haynie, all of Texas and Pat Muldoon of Florida; and the late Carol Daniel and Joe Shipman. Maxine leaves many nieces and nephews and dear friends.A Memorial Visitation will be held at the North Attleboro Elks, 52 Bullfinch Street, North Attleboro, MA on Saturday, March 25, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. A Memorial Service was also held on March 18, 2017 in Paris, Texas. Burial services will be privately held.In lieu of flowers, her family has requested that donations may be made in memory of Maxine to the Sturdy Memorial Foundation, Development Office for Oncology Department, Sturdy Memorial Foundation, Inc., 211 Park Street, P.O.
