Matthew C. Henderson, 38, of Sebastopol, California, passed away following injuries sustained in a motorcycle-vehicle accident in Santa Rosa, California on June 5, 2025.
Born on March 27, 1987, he was a son of Kimberly A. (Raymond) Henderson of North Attleboro, MA and Jeffrey W. Henderson of Cumberland, Rhode Island.
Raised in North Attleboro, MA where he received his earlier education and later attended Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical High School in Franklin, MA.
During his youth, he was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and played baseball as a youngster with L.N.A.L. In high school, he enjoyed playing lacrosse, wrestling.
His earlier years were marked by bad decisions and addiction issues, and he turned his life around and provided guidance and support to countless others battling addiction through his career as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor at the Olympia House in Petaluma, California. He enjoyed the past many years of sobriety and used his life lessons to serve others.
An aspiring actor, he recently had a role in the production of "Roofing".
In addition to his parents, he leaves his sister: Rebecca Henderson of Cumberland, RI and her children: Brooklyn and Cade and his brother: Bradford Henderson of Woonsocket RI; his maternal grandparents: Robert and Dorothy (Baril) Raymond of North Attleboro, MA and his godparents: Kristie Raymond of Clinton, MA and Brian Raymond (Cindy) of Millville, RI and their children: Riley Babbin in Hawaii and Jason Raymond of Millville, MA.
His paternal grandmother: Marlene (Thurston) Timberlake of Attleboro, MA; his father's siblings: Robin Hamel (Steve) and their son: Corey (Ashley) all of Attleboro, MA; Lynn Seel and her children: Justin and David all of North Attleboro, MA and Lisa Henderson of Dighton, MA. He was the paternal grandson of the late Earl “Nuch” Henderson of Attleboro, MA.
His uncles: Wayne Thurston and Conor Mallon of Sebastopol, CA; his girlfriend: Paris Pashbin of Sebastopol, CA; his daughter: Ava Grace Scheafer and her mother: Audrey Wolff both of Petaluma, CA; and a close cousin: Brittney Mello of Sebastopol, CA.
Family and friends are warmly welcome to attend visitation on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.
All are welcome to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 10:00 am at the Transfiguration of the Lord Parish - St. Mark, 115 Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA. There will be no public funeral cortege from the funeral home and all attendees are asked to go directly to church.
Private graveside services will be held at Mount Hope Cemetery and Arboretum, North Attleboro, MA at a later date.
