Matthew Stephen Gould, 44, of South Washington Street, North Attleboro, died early Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Children's Hospital Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. He was surrounded by his loving wife and best friend, Deborah Clark Gould, and his devoted parents Maxwell G. and Eileen "Pat" M. (Dupelle) Gould and his sister-in-law, Donna Clark. In his last days he was surrounded by many of his family and friends. Born in Attleboro, Massachusetts on June 21, 1968, Matt was a courageous man that fought a long hard battle having been diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at the age of six months. Matt later received a lung transplant at the University Hospital in Minnesota in October of 1994 after which he spent much time traveling with family and friends most notably in Germany, California and Mexico where he bungee jumped much to the delight of his parents. Other than a short period of time when Matt lived in Florida with friends, he was a lifelong resident of North Attleboro and graduated from North Attleboro High School in 1986. Many of his high school friends were among those that Matt lived with in his earlier years creating lasting memories and friendships that remained throughout his life until his final hours. Prior to his lung transplant Matt worked for Paramount Cards with his father after having attended New England Tech. In April of 2002 Matt had a kidney donated to him from his father. In May of 2003 he began dating Deborah Clark to whom he was married on October 16, 2004. Matt and Debbie made their home together in North Attleboro where Matt spent much of his time working on projects with his mother, Pat. Matt loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends as a kind, caring, and compassionate young man. He enjoyed life to the fullest and expressed his creativity through photography, music and landscaping. He had a quick wit that at times appeared irreverent but his sense of humor was enjoyed by many. Matt had a keen intelligence and interest in exploring philosophy, astronomy, psychology and the physics of the universe. His intellectual curiosities were as varied as the New England weather.
