Mary Helen (Zielinski) Vegiard, 86, of Pond Street, South Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Life Care Center of Attleboro in Attleboro, MA. She was the former wife of the late Arthur J. Vegiard. Born in Providence, RI on May 31, 1929, she was the daughter of Andrew Zielinski and Johanna (Mikasz) Zielinski. A resident of South Attleboro since 2002, Mary was employed as a bench worker for many years at the Stern-Leach Company in Attleboro before retiring. An avid reader, she enjoyed knitting, quilting and baking, especially cookies. Mary's proudest accomplishment and greatest source of joy was her family. She is survived by her four beloved children: Joanne H. (Vegiard) San Bento and her husband, William San Bento, Jr., of Pawtucket, RI; Arthur J. Vegiard, Jr. and his wife, Roxanne E. (Trombley) Vegiard, of North Attleboro, MA; Karen F. (Vegiard) Milton and her husband, Robert L. Milton, of Attleboro, MA; and Peter M. Vegiard and his wife, Cheryl A. (Leppert) Vegiard of South Attleboro, MA; her dear sister: Annie (Zielinski) Parente of South Carolina; eight treasured grandchildren; thirteen cherished great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her sweet Husky, "Nikita". She was the sister of the late Laura (Zielinski) Matonis, Sophie (Zielinski) Heon, Frank Zielinski, Edward Zielinski, and Stanley Zielinski, and enjoyed the companionship of her late Husky, "Storm". Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, ¾ mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro.
