Mary Louise Stoltz

Mary Louise (Smithkowski) Stoltz, 66, of Elm Terrace, North Attleboro, died on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro following a long illness. She was the cherished and adored wife of Gordon R. Stoltz to whom she shared more than 40 years and to whom she was married on August 6, 1988 in North Attleboro. Born in New Haven, Connecticut on December 17, 1944 she was a daughter of the late Stephen J. and Mary L. (Brockett) Smithkowski. Raised and educated in Connecticut, Mrs. Stoltz moved to North Attleboro in 1980. Mrs. Stoltz was employed as an assembler for the Myer Wire Company in Hamden, Connecticut for ten years prior to her retirement in 1980. She was a former communicant of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in North Attleboro and more recently attended St. Mark Roman Catholic Church in the Village of Attleboro Falls. A lifelong lover of animals, she treasured the times spent feeding the ducks and ducklings at the pond at Elm Terrace. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. Post 302 in Rehoboth. Playing card games was one of her favorite pastimes. In addition to her beloved husband, she leaves a stepdaughter: Tammeekar L. Wing of Augusta, Maine; a sister: Elizabeth Sattlot in Florida; her husbands siblings: Thomas A. Stoltz of North Attleboro; Alfred J. Stoltz of Wallingford, Connecticut; Sandra T. Sousa of Loganville, Georgia and Dorothy K. Guiard in Oregon and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She was the sister-in-law of the late Robert Stoltz and James Stoltz. Visitation has been respectfully omitted. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend a Memorial Service in Celebration of Her Life on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 12:00 Noon in the Memorial Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with Rev. Thomas L. Rita, Pastor of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Roman Catholic Church, Seekonk, officiating. Inurnment will be held on Friday, May 13, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Massachusetts National Cemetery Columbarium, Bourne. Please do not send flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) 3 organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the North Attleboro Animal Shelter.
