Mary Jean L. (Coletti) Michaels, 90, of Pike Avenue, Attleboro, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at the Life Care Center of Attleboro where she had been a resident for the past week. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest Samuel Michaels to whom she was married on September 12, 1953 and who entered into eternal rest on December 10, 1980. Born in Milford, Massachusetts on August 28, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Domenico and Rose (Niro) Colletti. She was raised and educated in the Town of North Attleboro where she was a 1939 graduate of North Attleboro High School. She remained a resident of the community until moving to Norwood and then to the City of Attleboro in 1966. From 1953 1959, Mrs. Michaels was the store manager for the Sears & Roebuck Catalog Store on Union Street in Attleboro. She later opened The Woodshed in Westwood that she owned and operated with her husband for many years prior to the couple owning and operating Mikes Lunch in Canton for several years and lastly purchasing and operating Marys Lounge in Attleboro for many years. She was a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church, Attleboro. Mrs. Michaels was a member of the Live Yers at the Hockomock Area YMCA in North Attleboro, was a longtime volunteer at the Rev. Gordon N. Larson Senior Center in Attleboro and was a member of the AARP. She was the aunt of James MacDonald of Attleboro; Ernest MacDonald of Attleboro; Carol MacDonald of North Attleboro; Patricia Juska in Maine; Marcia Stafford in Colorado and Beverly Carocci in Florida. She also leaves a great nephew and a great niece. She was the sister of the late Rose MacDonald, Emilio Bevilaqua, John Bevilaqua and Daniel Bevilaqua. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 9:00 10:00 AM in the Commonwealth Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. Childrens room is available during the visitation. Those in need of a ride to visitation may call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial following visitation on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 133 North Main Street Route 152, Attleboro, with the Rev. Richard M. Roy, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Following cemetery services, an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship, refreshments and remembrance at a location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Michaels name may be made to the Dyer-Lake Charitable Foundation, Inc., a registered 501 (c) (3) organization, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, North Attleboro, MA 02760 to benefit the St. Joseph Food Pantry.
