Mary-Ellen Steele, 81, fondly known as "Maureen" or "Moe", of North Attleboro passed away peacefully at home on September 17, 2026.

Born in Boston, on March 15, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Derrane) Connolly. Mary-Ellen was the loving wife of Richard Steele. They were blessed to recently celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary together.

She was a longtime resident of Mansfield, MA for 42 years and most recently made her home in North Attleboro, MA. She knew how to enjoy life and never took the little pleasures for granted. She loved to sew, indulge in her favorite junk food, settle in for a good true crime show or an episode of Seinfeld, and dance to almost any music-but she would sing and dance her heart out to any song sung by Cher.

She enjoyed trips to Foxwoods, apple picking, and especially cherished a once-in-a-lifetime family trip to Ireland, where she met with locals and visited her parents' homes in Galway and Inishmore. Some of her favorite memories were closer to home-summer cookouts, long phone calls catching up with family and friends, and enjoying Pow Wow Pits with friends on Branch Street. But her greatest joy was spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren. She treasured every visit, every conversation, and every moment spent with them, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

Besides her husband, Richard, she is survived by her children: Mary-Kathleen Young and her husband Chris, of Marshfield, MA, Karen Folan and her husband Derek of North Attleboro, MA, and Darren Steele and his wife Nereida, of Palm City, FL; and her grandchildren: Sarah, Jack, and Marykate Young, Caroline, Madison, and Benjamin Folan, Lucas and Katie Steele. She also leaves behind her beloved brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Joanne Connolly, of Norwell, MA; nieces and nephews; as well as many loving relatives and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend Visitation on Thursday September 24, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, MA.

Burial will follow at Milton Cemetery in Milton, Massachusetts.
