Mary Bernadette Elder

Mary Bernadette (Sullivan) Elder, 74, of Attleboro, MA, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 29, 2021 at Golden Place HealthCare in Attleboro.
Born on December 30, 1946 in Medford, MA, she was the daughter of the late James Sullivan and the late Frances (Pearson) Sullivan.
Mary was a graduate of Cheverus High School in Malden, MA, and then attended Bunker Hill Community College.  As a young woman she was employed as an office worker and stenographer before assuming the role she truly cherished as a homemaker for her family.
A resident of Attleboro for the past ten years, Mary previously lived in North Attleboro, MA.  She enjoyed calligraphy, art, painting, visits to the beach, and most especially, she treasured being at home and being with her beloved family.
Mary was the loving mother of Marion "Chris" W. Elder Jr. and his wife, Heather A. (Junior) Elder, of Cumberland, RI, and David Christopher Elder of Lynnfield, MA.  She was the proud and adoring grandmother of Brian M. Walsh, Alanna M. Elder, Derek M. Elder, and Hannah E. Choiniere. She was the sister of Anne Backus of PA; James Sullivan of PA, and his late wife, Jean; David Sullivan and his wife, Arlene, of NY; Fran Martineau and her husband, Bruce, of NH; and Patti Ratliff and her husband, Sidney, of KY.  Mary leaves numerous nieces and nephews, her extended family, and many dear friends.
With strict adherence to applicable Covid-19 health precautions, including social distancing and the mandatory use of facemasks, relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a Visitation on Friday, February 5, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro, followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home.
Graveside Services for Mary will immediately follow in North Purchase Cemetery, Attleboro.
