Martha Bridge Mclaughlin

Martha Bridge McLaughlin, 85, of Hope Gardens, Park Street, Attleboro, died at her residence unexpectedly on Saturday, June 7, 2014. Born in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts on March 27, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Harold Bridge, Sr. and Lois (Studley) Bridge. Raised and educated in Oak Bluffs, Mrs. McLaughlin was a graduate of Oak Bluffs High School and resided on the island until 1960 when she moved to the City of Attleboro. For seven years, Mrs. McLaughlin was the owner and operator of Gins Coin Op in Seekonk and was formerly employed by L.G. Balfour Company in Attleboro for five years. She was a dedicated member of All Saints Anglican Church, Attleboro. Mrs. McLaughlin was a former member of the Oak Bluffs Mothers Club and the Martha's Vineyard Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, watching Disney movies and treasured the time spent with family and friends creating lifelong memories to cherish. She leaves her children: David G. McLaughlin of Seekonk; Sharon M. Higgins of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and William E. McLaughlin of Attleboro; 8 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Harold Bridge II, mother of Lois Flint and grandmother of Patrick Flint. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on FRIDAY, June 13, 2014 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the "Commonwealth Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right at end of ramp, mile on left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. All are welcome to attend her Funeral Service on WEDNESDAY, June 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM at All Saints Anglican Church, 1188 South Main Street - Route 152, Attleboro with the Rev. Lance Guiffrida, Pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Oak Bluffs at a later date. Following church services on WEDNESDAY, June 18, 2014 an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the undercroft of the church. A children's room is available during visitation. There will be no funeral cortege from the funeral home prior to commencement of the funeral service. Those in need of transportation to visitation may simply call the funeral home at (508) 695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis local transportation. Please omit flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the All Saints Anglican Church, 1188 South Main Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.
