Marolyn G. Bailey, 93, of Norton, MA passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, RI.
She was born in the Whitinsville neighborhood of Northbridge, MA on April 6, 1927. She was raised and educated and remained almost a lifelong resident of Norton having graduated from Norton High School in 1945. She was a graduate of the Lee Institute having earned her real estate license.
Mrs. Bailey was employed in the business office at Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro for more than 20 years prior to her retirement in 1989. Previously, she had been employed by the former New England Telephone and Telegraph as an operator in Norton for six years.
She attended Trinitarian Congregational Church, Norton.
Mrs. Bailey was a member of the Board of Directors for the former Sturdy Credit Union and was a member and served as past president of the Norton League of Women Voters. Many years ago, when her sons were young, she volunteered as a den mother for the Boy Scouts of America.
Her favorite pastimes included reading, knitting, card playing and traveling. She adored and treasured the times spent with family and close friends.
She was the mother of the late Bradford W. Bailey, Sr. and the late Richard D. Bailey, Sr.
Mrs. Bailey was the grandmother of Bradford W. Bailey, Jr. and his wife, Vicki, of Mansfield, Richard D. Bailey, Jr. of Rhode Island, and Heather Bailey of Rhode Island. Her great grandchildren include: Cameron Bailey of Mansfield.
Marolyn's family would like to thank her amazing group of friends for always being there for her. Your kindness and friendship never went unnoticed and will never be forgotten.
