Marjorie Anne (Malley) Morrissey, 76, of Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls; formerly of Woodcock Lane, North Attleboro; passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, November 25, 2014 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of her deeply devoted husband, Raymond J. Morrissey, to whom she was married on June 25, 1960. She was known affectionately to her family as "Mema". She was born on November 13, 1938 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Stephen and Elizabeth (Walsh) Malley. Marjorie grew up on Washington Avenue in Providence and graduated from St. Xavier's Academy in 1956. She received her Bachelor's degree in education from Rhode Island College in 1960. While at Rhode Island College, Mrs. Morrissey made many lifelong friends and was proud to be the editor or the school newspaper. She remained an active member of the Rhode Island College Alumni Association and was proud to have marched with the Class of 2010. Mrs. Morrissey was an elementary education school teacher who tutored countless children. Later in her career, she taught special-needs children within the Wrentham school system. Marjorie was an avid reader, loved television game shows and taking a ride to anywhere and everywhere with her beloved Ray. She enjoyed many great adventures in her travels with her husband including Hawaii, Ireland, California, Florida and the Caribbean Islands and many other exciting locations. Her family will recall with fondness her fashion sense having loved all types of clothing including hats and her "party shoes". Mrs. Morrissey was a communicant of St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, Attleboro Falls. She resided in the North Attleboro community for the past 40 years. Her legacy will be the four amazingly talented grandsons whom made her proud everyday with their individual successes and wonderful personalities. In addition to her husband of 54 years, she leaves two daughters whom she raised to be ladies and caring mothers: Debra J. Krauth and her husband, John C. Krauth, of North Attleboro and Diane E. Horton and her husband, Gregory A. Horton, of North Attleboro; four grandsons whom were the joys of her life: Nicholas A. Horton of North Attleboro and his fiancé, Meghan DeMars of North Smithfield, Rhode Island; Zachary and Benjamin Horton and Danny Krauth all of North Attleboro; a sister: Sr. Mary Lea Malley, R.S.M., of Cumberland, Rhode Island; a brother: James Malley and his wife, Patricia (Fogarty) Malley, of Warwick, Rhode Island; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends. She was the sister of the late Roberta Trainor, Patricia Delisle, Stephen Malley and Eileen Malley. Family and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Sunday, November 30, 2014 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue (exit 5 off I-95 N or S, go right, mile on the left), Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro. For those in need of a local ride to visitation simply call the funeral home directly at 508-695-0200 to make an advance reservation for such gratis transportation. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend the funeral on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 8:-00 AM from the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with Bagpiper Honors at 9:00 AM at St. Mark's Roman Catholic Church, 105 Stanley Street, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Thomas Frechette, pastor, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In honor of her love for flowers, flowers are accepted and should be delivered to the funeral home by 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 29, 2014. Following the Funeral Mass an invitation will be extended to join the family for a time of continued fellowship and refreshments in the lower level of St. Mark's Church.
