Marion J. Defazio

Marion J. "Josie" DeFazio, 84, of the Morgan Health Center, Morgan Street, Johnston, Rhode Island died peacefully and in her sleep at the Center on Sunday, August 17, 2014. She was the devoted wife of the late Peter D. DeFazio, Sr. who died on May 24, 1992. Born in Boston, Massachusetts on May 18, 1930, Mrs. DeFazio was a daughter of the late George W. and Christina J. (Campbell) Brownell. She resided in Johnston for almost the past five years having previously resided in Newton for 16 years. She was a devoted and dedicated homemaker to her cherished family. Mrs. DeFazio enjoyed knitting, antique cars and ballroom dancing but her most treasured times were those spent in the company of family creating lifelong memories to cherish. She will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful caregiver to her late husband, Peter, and later to her companion, Bucky. She is survived by her children: Betty Williams and her husband,Paul Williams, of Plymouth; Christopher L. DeFazio and his wife, Sheri, of Needham; Joseph DeFazio and his wife, Susan DeFazio, of Milton and Butch DeFazio and his wife, Lorelei DeFazio, of Cranston, Rhode Island; eleven grandchildren: Shannon, Christopher, Laura, Elise, Liam, Kayla, Andrew, Angela, Corey, Nick and Ryan. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend visitation on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 9:00 - 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM in the "Memorial Chapel" of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home - the national historic Colonel Obed Robinson Home, 161 Commonwealth Avenue, Village of Attleboro Falls, North Attleboro with the Rev. Kelly K. Thibeault, Pastor of the First Congregational "Oldtown" Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, Quincy.
